Milk Thistle

Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) has a long history of use for supporting liver health and the herbalist John Gerard (c.1545–1612) wrote of it in his Herball: "My opinion           is  that  milk thistle is the best remedy that grows against all melancholy diseases."

Extensive research since the 1950's has contibuted to its widespread popularity and identified Silymarin (a group of flavanoid-lignan group of compounds from the seed shell) as the key active component.
